What is the budget for this used trailer? The molded fiberglass run very high and rarely is there a "deal" on one unless you get really lucky. On something older, with a big trip planned, I would definitely have ALL systems checked out before taking off.
Definitely look at the stick built lite weights like Jayco, Starcraft, etc. The weights can be just as lite and a new one can cost about the same as a used fiberglass trailer.
