I have owned a couple of FR products and now have a 2018 FR Sandpiper 372LOK. You will find that there are good RVs and there are bad RVs and a lot depends on what day they were made, not the company or even which facility built it. Your best bet is to find a good dealer that has excellent follow-up and service work. When you find what you want, make sure that the warranty work is done by that good dealership and get everything fixed to YOUR standards.
Your day of the week theory does not hold water. The Forest River (Rockwood) we ordered through a dealer, had delivered, and ultimatly rejected and refused to buy as it had multiple build issues and defects was built on a Wednesday. The 2nd one built and shipped which had few issues and defects which we purchased was built on a Friday.
Go to Elkhart, Millersburg, or Goshen IN and take in a couple of factory tours. If you have half a dozen operable brain cells and the smallest amount of mechanical ability, you'll come out of those tours wondering why you would even consider buying one of these slapped together pieces of junk.
The best one I've seen is on the Forest River brochures they show the dedicated quality control facility, and advertise it as "20000 sq ft of quality assurance" LOL. Maybe 1/10 of 1% of units produced ever see the place.
To the OP. Dont be afraid to take a few hours inspecting a new Forest River product. Go under and on top of if you're able. Take a pen and a lot of paper, you'll most likely need it. Its the luck of the draw, the dealer will most likely want to avoid you doing that. Do not sign on the line till you're satisfied. Also, watch what you glean from Forest River Forums. There is no shortage of Kool Aid drinkers guzzling the juice that the CEO Pete Liegl whips up on that rag.
