Suggest after getting your numbers together re weights, you spend some time online with RVWholesalers and/or RV Direct. Both sell many makes and models and you can learn a lot without leaving home.
I would think if it's just two of you, something in the 26ish length would be good. As it happens, that's what we have and love it....real bed, awesome bathroom, large living area with huge rear window, sofa with air mattress for occasional guests. In that same size range, you can find some BH models.
We just made the move this spring from a hybrid travel trailer, which offers a lot of space in a small package....IF you happen to love sleeping under canvas. We towed approx. 23 feet but opened up with the 2 queen size beds deployed to approx. 30 feet. Something to consider....lighter weight and great space. We have camped in TX with our HTT and had no cooling problem IF you have any shade. Otherwise, it was toasty.
BTW, RVW is great to deal with and we saved over $4000 over our local dealer on the HTT and more on the TT. If you see something interesting, they'll email you the price. No games, that's the price. A drive to OH to pick it up is well worth it....mini-vacation with a really big souvenir. Happy shopping and welcome back to camping.
