HI we have been searching for our first trailer for some time. There are just two of us, we want something with lots of windows, and a slide out. We like the new 2015 Lance trailers a lot, but the 1995 is a tad to small and the 2295 is a bit too heavy in the front for our TV (2014 Diesel Jeep GC, max TW of 740). We are looking for a 24-26' overall length trailer that is less than 4600 lbs including A/C, oven, microwave, power awning, and tongue jack. We have looked at Winnebago, Keystone Passport, Livin Lite (it felt a bit cramped with the low ceiling), and the Cruiser RVs. There seems to be a lot of trailers right around 26' or 24', but nothing in between. Passport 23rb is the type of floorplan we like the most, either dinette or sofa in the slide out works for us.We live in the Dallas TX area, but I know there are many brands not carried by dealers here.Don

I would hit a RV show, there should be some at the first of the year. My Wildwood 26'BHSS the UVWR is 5700#. Loaded about another 1000#. A slide adds a lot of weight.

Our Dutchmen Lite is about 25 ft with dry wt of 5,035 lbs. Weight at truck stop with hitch and cargo= 6,500.

I don't think you'd have any problem towing a Lance 2285 or Lance 2295 with your setup at all. There is a RV show in Dallas at the end of Feb. at market hall should be able to check out a lot of units there. If you don't mind the $12 tickets it could save you some time and gas. I am coming from Texarkana to look, of course my wife and I will make it a getaway weekend with no Grand children ;) .

We have had a Passport 23rb, 2015 for 6 months and love it. WE have made trips to Florida and are currently in South TX trying the Winter Texan life. It is just my husband and I. Some items that we knew would be a problem was the mattress which we quickly replaced. We replaced with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CT37L0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. We LOVE it and as soon as we get home we are going to buy one for the master bedroom. Note: I am short so I have a short folding footstool to help me step into the bed. The mattress we bought is 12" high. We had an upgraded exhaust fan placed in the main living area. So glad we did. The sofa is / was very uncomfortable too so....we added some extra foam under the seat cushion and we sit on individual memory foam cushions. It is very easy to pull with a F150 Eco Boost Ford Truck. Understand that we have gone from a popup camper that we pulled behind a motorcycle so this seems very adequate to us. We have had several years of experience packing compactly so we are just continuing the concept of take only what you MUST have. We love the mostly wooden blinds, counter space, deep kitchen sink. YES the bathroom is tight but we tend to use the showers where we are staying.

Sorry it's been a while since your question. No, I don't use sway bars, but the TrailManor doesn't wag the dog. Due to where the axle is, the weight distribution is very good. I do use a WDH, though. I would not tow without it, and Jeep says, even with the auto-leveling option, you should use a WDH.

The OP may want to look at the TrailManor 2720, or even the 2922, as they have the option for an oven or microwave. The smaller on that I have does not have the option for an oven. You would be surprised at how much room there is if you get the dinette or sofa slide (we have the dinette slide, and even in our smaller trailer, we have lots of floor space).

We have a lance 2185 and absolutely love it. The front bed/couch is perfect for getting more sitting space, and we have a lot of space in back where the bunks are for sleeping or storage of bikes, etc.

Good to hear your Jeep does so well. I know when I go out and look at trailers some of them are sitting really high, I can't imagine having that behind me pushing me down the hill, but maybe the height would help with wind resistance, or just push me faster LOL?? I'm planning on a very good brake controller. My Summit has paddle shifters so i can drive in manual mode. Do you use sway bars?? I've been to Colorado many times, such a beautiful state. I lived on the western edge of Wyoming for 5 years, lots of mountain driving towing experience there.

I have the 2014 GC diesel, and tow a 3500 lb TrailManor 2417 KD with it. No problem going up hills (I live in Denver and camp west, going from 5280' to 10,000+ feet). However, going down hills, there is very little engine braking, so even if you downshift, the computer will upshift before it holds you back. I frequently have to use the brake going downhill, which irritates the heck out of me!

But, if you go with a full-height TT, there may be enough wind resistance to keep you from gaining speed too quickly on the long downhill grades. Since my TrailManor is a collapsible, I have very little wind resistance to slow me down.

Based on the lack of engine braking, personally, I would not want to tow anything heavier than 6,000 lbs with the GC. I have no problem with the stability, handling, nor pulling power, however, as it does wonderfully on all those tasks, in my experience.
