I can tell you that my '15 6.7L will pull off the line far better than my '99 7.3L, both with autos, same rear end. I think a big difference there is the 6 speed vs. 4 speed. 1st in the 7.3l was 2.71 gear ratio, 3.97 in the 6.7l, that's a big difference getting started. Also the throttle response (fuel response?) of the 6.7 is MUCH crisper - almost as crisp as a gasser. One the 7.3 there was that feeling that you had to throw the horses on the fire, heat them up to operating temperature, then you would be getting somewhere.
