Looking for opinions on automatic vs stick

I'm right there with you. I like the control you get with a manual. I like the simplicity and rock-solid reliability that you get with a manual. I've had to rescue many friends who have had their automagic fail, usually at the most inopportune times. Nobody has ever had to rescue me from a transmission failure.
