Another consideration is what yer doing with the truck. Much dd or traffic use and a stick in a big truck sucks. Open road, rural, heavy towing a manual shines.
In most new trucks the autos are rated to tow heavier than the sticks (if you could find one...)
MPG now rated higher w/auto also...
I think all the autos offer a "manual" mode also. No steel rod to move around...but at least you can "pretend" if you feel the need.
Manuals have gone the way of buggy whips.
