looking for tt with self contained generator

any one know a tt that has a self contained generator? I had a toy hauler with a generator. the generac generator was prone to overheating in warm weather. length approx. 30ft. slides or no slids acceptable.
  • My Nash 25c also had the generator prep. Never installed one but the connections and compartment were there.
  • Nash 17K and 22H can be had with a generator... last time I looked at them anyway.

    Nash and Arctic Fox

Easiest (fastest) way to see which models are generator capable is to download the brochure
  • What I consider a major drawback is the the only genset TTs run of of the propane supply.

    THs generally use gasoline.
  • I don't know of any off hand, our TT TH came with an Onan onboard that was installed midship from the factory. Never an issue and we put over 1200 hours with more than half of those hours running our AC during the heat of the day. Still runs great but we picked up a Champion inverter genny with remote start as the Onan was major overkill most of the time.

About the only time we use the Onan is to exercise it or running the AC while traveling down the road on hot days that way our rig is nice and cool upon arriving to our destination. We just wheel the Champion down the ramp or out the door and plug in our shore cord. Simply press the remote to turn on or off, easily runs our AC unit, even on eco-mode and at high elevations.

Since most onboard gennies for TT TH's our installed in the pass-through basement storage, any TT with ample enough space can have a genny prep done by the manufacturer or aftermarket by the dealer. Of course genny bay door needs to be vented, some will open their generator compartment doors when they experience overheating, ours is labeled to never open door when running.

The great thing about the Onan is it could easily run for a couple of days straight since it had it's own 30 gallon tank, our Champion inverter genny can go more than a dozen hours on it's under 2 gallon tank, roughly 7 hours when running the AC which usually is enough per day unless it is humid as well. We are looking for a TT suited for couples, our Champion will sure come in handy.
