Unfortunately, the tow rating number is the most misleading number of all the related weight ratings. A few tow vehicles can tow a travel trailer at their tow rating, many can't or shouldn't. Yes, they can tow more than they should if you are simply looking at horsepower and torque numbers.
As has been pointed out several times, the limiting factor with light duty tow vehicles is usually their available payload. Disregard it and come back on the forums in a short time asking about suspension upgrades, better tires, and what fancy hitch can help with your handling problems.
This is not to discourage the OP but to congratulate her on asking the important questions up front.
