Older, high-mileage vehicles can be a great value as long as you've got the cash on hand if a transmission goes south or a rear end gives up the ghost, etc.
If you're in that position & it's in great shape other than cosmetics I say go for it; the GM/DMax/Allison trucks have unquestionably proven themselves.
