v10, I hope you're right but I've never seen an insurance company play fair. A year ago, my wife put her work car in a ditch. Because she works for local Government they required an accident report. There was no damage to the car. When my insurance bill came due, it went up $500 a year for the next 3 years. When I asked why, I was told that my wife had a reportable accident and accidents follow the driver, not the policy holder. So even though they didn't pay out one dime, they dinged me because my wife is on my policy. As for the Aluminum issue, I just know from the experience my friend had. The repair facility told him that if they had been able to fix the dents in his hood, it would have been about $350 but because they had to replace it, the additional cost was over $2 grand. That money has to be made back somehow.
