loosing old members

In two weeks I'll have been hanging around here for 10 years. Some of the "faces" have changed but the forum is still something I enjoy. I've met some really nice people through here and hope to continue to do so for some time yet. But eventually I'll fade away too for one reason or another. Everything changes.

Heck, I attended several great rallies and still have T-shirt (wear it as I type now).
Been RVing for over 30 years and plan to do it for next 30-50

I do post on some of the other forums on this site. There are definitely people who easily get butt-hurt. I don't see a lot of those types on the TC forum. I don't know if that is due to the moderation of this forum, or due to the type of person who is attracted to a TC. Either way, I am glad to virtually hang-out with y'all. And I appreciate the even-handed moderation BradW provides - THANK YOU!

I don't have a TC so maybe I should keep quiet but I just feel the post should have been in the General RVing Issues as it really effects all of us. I too have noticed most of the older guys have left these forums and I think it's mostly due to how some members treat other members. One guy who has moved on is SCVJeff, I can only assume that he got tired of ansering questions on a topic he is absolutely tops in and having not only some who are kind of rude and original posters tell him he didn't kow what he was talking about. Jeff is a pretty cool even tempered guy and didn't get upset and strike out as many others do, he just went where folks were a little more caring.

As to the picture posting thing, I click on an Icon for Imgur, it opens, I click and drag photos(usually from a file on my desktop), and the pictures appear in my post. I don't always remember how to do it and sometimes I screw up but difficult is ain't. 1492 did a great job making it easy for a guy born in the first half of the last century.

We've been here a long time and it has changed drastically, not really bad, just different. Still talk with some of the "old bunch" but not many...things change.

It's Chris, isn't it? I certainly remember you at our Rallies from the Forum. I recall you towing your Boat and using that as your RV when we were at that Lake near Pomona (my memory for those things is shot but I do remember you). I've been around here for a few years myself!! Sorry, but I'm going back to the rude folks over in the Class A Forum!! J/K'ing LOL

Plus I get tired of having my posts deleted. Some mod with personal axe to grid with me makes my informative posts disappear if I don't write it perfectly. I am old and it takes time to type a post, but no matter, poof, it is gone because of a difference of opinion.

I find it is a waste of time to read or write as often as I used to on RV.net. I write a generic post and if it shares a different opinion from what this particular mod has, it disappears. Why bother.

Oh yes, I fully expect this post to vanish also.

Also: Moderator jplante4 is NOT the subject of my rant above. Just thought I would clarify. My issues have come from Around the Campfire.

I just didn't want to take credit for something I'm not doing. Moding a forum takes a lot of time and work with very few rewards. Admin was the first mod, the me and admin for a few years, then admin, me and Wayne for 10 or 12 years, the admin and Wayne for 4 or five years, the admin and jerry.
