Murray, KY, the closest town, has NO transmission shops. I got the names of a few local guys in the area but nobody would recommend any of them....
So decided to go with a Jasper unit. The shop didn't even open the unit (except to drop the pan and drain it...) it's strictly remove the old and install the new.
So, I'll never find out what went wrong.
At 144K, it doesn't make sense to just fix the issue with reverse...if you're gonna get into it you're gonna rebuild it. Had this happened at home in Louisville I would have had a lot more options, but being stuck where I am this was the only solution that made sense.
Plus Jasper gives 3 yr 100K warranty honored at over 2000 dealers in the US, so I've got some portability...the Jasper warranty is also transferrable if I sell the truck before its expired.
