I agree, sometimes people with or without thinking will start & run a loud genny without consideration to others. I have a rule of not using mine before 11Am in the morning & not after 7PM at night. Now, having said that, I'm sure there are some Forum Members here that will disagree with that also, since it's a "POS" yellow Genny. I really did want to spend $1000.00 for a red or blue genny that was socially acceptable, but couldn't find one damn reason to justify the expense of something I use 6-8 times a year when my $200 yellow "POS" does the job. By the way, it is very dependable & only weighs 58# when running at full RPM
