If your weight distribution setup uses spring bars, check that the brackets that hold the chains have not moved. It made quite a noise when it happened to me. The installer did not tighten the bolt enough when he installed mine. Just relocate the bracket so the chain hangs straight down and retighten the bolt. The truck/trailer combo have to be lined up together.
Aside from that, my setup also grunts and groans in tight turns and I do use a bit of grease on the tow ball, the spring bars, and on the sway control balls.
