Love Alabama winters!

This past weekend we,along 3 other couples, met up at Gunterhill
C.O.E. Campground just outside of Montgomery for a very relaxing weekend of "winter" camping. With lows in the uppers 30's and highs
at mid 70s it was a near perfect weekend. One of the guys in our group was in a tent.
The campground is close enough that I could drive into work on Friday and be back out in time for a big bowl of chili for dinner. There were only about 15 campers in the whole park so it was very peaceful and the deer and waterfowl were abundant.
Yup, I love Alabama winters, Now we just have to blow air through the water lines and wait for the next "itch"... maybe three weeks.

    They are. Perfect sleeping weather in the fall/spring. very unlikely to need heat or ac.. Not so sure bout winter though.

    Love being here in Arizona. 365 days of RV'ing weather. In the summer time when its hot in the desert we take a 2 hour drive to the mountains where its in the 70's. Once the snow starts flying in those mountains we RV in the desert regions where again, its in the 70's. No putting the RV away for the winter. No winterizing the trailer. Just keep on RV'ing! Gotta love it!!

    We love camping in the Fall and Winter time. No matter what state it is in. No crowds and the trails are not as crowded either. Over the last two years we have been to Cheaha (2) and Desoto Falls (2) State Parks in Alabama. Both are fun and have numerous things to do in the area. I think this year we will try to get htose two in and at least a third Alabama state park. Recomendations of one that is within three hours of ATL? Lake Guntersville?

    Have camped in my OFF-ROAD POPUP around the Jordan Lake area in the Oct/Nov time frame just North of Wetumpka many times.. The Sportsman Bar is close-by on the OLD US231 swayback bridge road for night caps to keep you warm and cozy during those cold nights haha...

    I assume you meant Fall!! Winter doesn't come until December 21st or so. :S Just teasing!! I love camping this time of year also, crowds have gone, temps great, scenery is just beautiful!! :B

    Ft Toulouse is another beautiful park with both Ft Toulouse(French)and Ft Jackson(American) Historic forts on the grounds along with an Indian mound.
    It's on the point where the Coosa and Tallapoosa rivers meet to form the
    Alabama river.
    Our group brought in 2012 there.We sat on the riverbank and watched the fireworks in Montgomery.
    I've only put RV antifreeze in our trailer twice,the first winter we had it and about 3 years ago when the temp went down to 5 degrees.
