Low Forum Activity?

I'm relatively new to the forum but not to camping. My demographics and background do not mirror most of the members and I set up and camp a little differently than the average member so have not found my niche. I moderate other forums so know what good and bad behavior by a few can do to participation. When my post is taken the wrong way or someone posts negative feedback on my post, I take the conversion to private messaging between me and that person. There is a lot of brand loyalty that seems to turn into hostility which I never understood regardless of manufacturer.
