My camper is too tall by a couple of inches to fit into my barn when loaded on the truck. The reason it is too tall is because of the stock AC unit. I recently learned of the Coleman Mach 8 cub and it is only 8 inches tall which should allow me to be able to pull into the barn. $800 for a new AC unit versus $1500 for getting my barn door re-done/raised. The Mach 8 cub puts out 9,200 BTUs. Is this enough to keep an AF 811 cool? Also is is listed as running on 115 volts and 11.7 amps. What would happen if I tried to run it while plugged into 110V? I'm an idiot when it comes to electrical issues so any help is appreciated.Does anyone have one of these units, what are your impressions of it?

115 and 110 are the same.Should cool it fine unless you like the desert.

Modify the barn.Surely that won't be the last camper you'll ever own,and even if the tall door will add value to the barn should you (or the heirs :) ) sell.Good Luck, Mike

I have a 9200 Polar Cub on my 11.5 foot Bigfoot TC. So far, it has done a great job. I can't see you having any cooling issues with the Coleman Mach 8 cub. I can't see any problem with the voltage. My bet is that you are plugged in to 120-volts. For your information, the voltage can fluctuate for many reasons. I have ran my Polar Cub on voltage as low as 109.My bet is the smaller A/C will be more efficient than your big one. It will not cycle as often, and do better at removing the moisture from the air. Bigger is not necessarily better with A/Cs.I am not in the A/C profession, but have a pretty good grip on the basics. I selected and installed my Polar Cub in 2005 and usually run it on my Honda 2000 generator when camping. I have ran it in campgrounds with varying voltages.Wayne

Our Dealer installed my Coleman Mach 8 cub P/N 47201A876 try here for technical info if this isn't already the one you are looking at: RV COMFORT Maybe the dealer could work out a trade? or possibly reuse the interior panel if compatible with the new unit. If you can find the P/N for your interior unit and exterior unit the technical section on the above website may show you if the parts are compatible and save some $.
