I have a 2008 Chevy 2500HD I bought new. I didn't like the looks of the back end so I installed 2" lowering shackles back then. If I ever buy a new truck, I would lower the back end again. It made it easier to get in back, trailer tows level. When I hook my 10000# fifth wheel to the truck, it hardly drops. I thought about air bags but not needed. In 8 years I have towed 5th wheel over 40,000 miles and no issues. You will have to re-aim head lights. Before I changed shackles, I marked garage door with masking tape where headlights hit. After changing shackles I adjusted headlights to original setting.
