LT or P Tires ?
My old stock Wrangler AT "P" rated 265 70R 17 tires are up for replacement. I know the "LT" are optimum for towing, but was wondering if I really need them? Cost is not a factor between the P and L...

I've had two dealers in my area with bad luck on Wranglers (not sure if they were this model).
One dealer had to order six to get four non defective ones. Granted there are lemons in everything.
GY has terrible marketing with Wrangler. Perception is a premium tire when reality is there are several low end Wranglers that I would not touch including most OEM P rated.
When bashing a tire brand or a line of tires like the Wranglers let us know which type of Wrangler that is supposed to be bad. Goodyear makes 14 different types of Wranglers so it help to keep the facts straight.
If I was the OP and had no handling issues with the P tires I would stick with them.
My wife 1500 crew cab chevy 4x4 came with P tires but driving six miles of county roads getting to the highway I didn't like bounce in the P265/70-17 (OEM) tires sidewall. When they finally wore out I went with a LT C load range with no more sidewall bounce and a smoother ride overall.
I drive 3/4 and one ton DRW trucks so I know how they ride over a rough railroad track.
