LT or P Tires ?
My old stock Wrangler AT "P" rated 265 70R 17 tires are up for replacement. I know the "LT" are optimum for towing, but was wondering if I really need them? Cost is not a factor between the P and L...

I did have a bad oscillating/repeating bounce down the freeway on our last trip at times. I would like to get rid of that! I repacked our trailer, changing front to back weights to get more or less tongue weight, changed driving speed, but that didn't make much difference. I'm pulling with a "Equilizer" hitch and have no sway with this combo, just repeating bounce at times.
Tires wont solve this issue, and its something we all deal with going 65mpg over the super slabs (interstate concrete). Think of what harder LT's may feel like...one can only guess...but they sure wont soak up the bounce of oscillation better than a "softer" tire in comparison.
No sway or lateral wiggle? I think you answered your own question with that statement. You don't need any changes to help stabilize the truck. Still, I see why its worth considering and hearing out the debate.
