LT tires on TT

Jack is quite a puzzle.
He freely admits that ST tires testing standards and thus their general performance is subpar.... But at the same time wants everyone to just wring their hands about it unless someone official gives their blessing to using a tire that will work.
He consistently calls for the govt. to intervene and fix the problem, and seems to think that until they do, that we should all just go on suffering ST tire failures as if that is our only option.
Maybe someday his calls for action will be heard... But in the meantime, my problem has been solved since 2006, when I went to LT tires.
