The debates about replacement tires for our RV trailers reminds me of protesters. When they step over the lines in smallish numbers they seldom, if ever, win their point. When they get into the majority things began to turn in their favor.
There are ways for single citizens to address any of the DOD rules committees decisions about tires and tire safety. Again, you may find that the bottom line is still going to be about expenses.
Trailer height is a major factor. Many of the existing trailer suspensions would have to be altered or be completely redesigned.
Just something to think about when you're considering taller tires. Will they put the height of your trailer over the top, so to speak?
