Read this thread completely. Some of it twice or thrice, thanks to quotes. Nothing new, nada. Why do so many refuse to just answer the original question?
THE ANSWER: Yes, he can. Personally, I would/would not.
You're welcome.
The reason these threads continue is because you have not come to the correct answer .
You have been blocked from coming to a proper conclusion by a few vocal posters who previously promoted a 3rd grade Asian brand tire as a top performer , posted repeatedly that steel RV wheels could not hold 80 psi , and posted that certain premium named tires were not suitable for trailer usage .
Same misinformed guys trying to bully the general forum with personal attacks and name calling .
I will not run anything but an LT tire on a trailer .
Guys like sprinklerman , gmwphotos , partymarty , jimnlin, huntingdog , and a few others have explained thoroughly why an LT graded tire is a tougher tire than an ST graded tire with an identical sidewall weight rating .
The LT detractors have proven incapable of figuring out what Katts and Doggs refers to because they cannot find it written by some rookie reporter who happens to publish in an RV magazine .
The writer who wrote the article about LT vs ST tires has less actual experience than the 5 above named practicioners .
You are also welcome .
