Just because the LT tire can be used on trailer axles does not make them trailer tires. It's not what they were designed to do.

Well at least we can agree on something ! :B
A ST tire can only be used on a trailer. Because it's a ( special :E ) tire...which only can be used on trailers.
And I agree with your statement.... LT tire can be used on a trailer. It can also be used on a "light truck". I guess that makes it extra special ;)
That post was about tire testing and was addressed to that individual poster. You have changed the subject, probably just to inject sarcasm.
I can tell you a trailer manufacturer that says LT tires can be used on their trailers (Airstream). Can you name another that currently does that, excluding the G614 as it's designated by its manufacturer as a trailer tire?

You are correct that Airstream has fit Michelin LT tires as standard on the Ed B model, and these load range E LT tires are optional on other models. They are also available as retro fit to previous year trailers at the factory in Jackson Center.
As to other "RV" manufacturers that fit LT as standard, no, I don't know the names of any.
But I do know that my Load Trail trailer and my Titan trailer come standard with 16" LR E tires, and both manufacturers approve the use of both LT and ST tires, in writing, in the owners manuals. That's good enough for me.
If someone else would care to go digging around on RV manufacturer sites besides Airstream to see if any approve or not, then have at it.
As an aside, I got approval from Crusier RV to fit Kumho LT ( commercial ) tires to my funfinder. I also got approval from both Tredit ( wholesaler of Sendel wheels at the time ) and Sendel, to use 65 psi, LR D tires on the wheels that were fit from the factory on this camper.
Again, good enough for me. I feel I have done my homework, and that homework, backed up with my experiences make me feel I have chosen what works "for me, for my trailers, my use"
Your trailer, your use may be different. If you feel that ST tires are the best choice for your application, then by all means, that is what you should use.
