Take a look at the posts by 2old4this in this archived thread for information about the importance of checking lug nuts. I believe he is probably the "Marty" that Burbman was talking about.

LOL! That's the guy! I stand corrected, he didn't actually lose the wheels, but the wheels were so loose it made the trailer uncontrollable.
His posts on this topic became so self-righteous and condescending that a few members suggested that if that's the kind of guy he is in real life, his neighbors probably loosened the lug nuts for him while the rig was parked in his driveway! Thanks for that walk down memory lane, Barney!
Nevertheless, the lessons learned are 1) Carry a torque wrench, and 2) Check your lug nuts often.
PS Hope you are enjoying FL, it's as cold as a you-know-what up here....
Burbman,
You prompted me to look even farther back in memory lane and I came up with
this one. What a riot to read it again! Nine pages of hilaious reading! :B That guy was a hoot!
Yep, enjoying the warm Florida weather although tonight and the next couple of days are going to be kind of cool.
I sure don't envy those of you that are up in the midwest or northern states! That is really something that is going on up there.
I had to laugh last night watching the SF/GB football game in Wisconsin. I wondered how it could be so cold there with Gore on the field! :W :B
To the OP of this thread. After all this, I hope you have learned to check the lug nuts! :)
