What makes you think extending the jacks is a bad idea?
That's what they are for.
You want that camper as low to the ground and stable as possible when off the truck.

Less extension, less wobble. Theoretically if I had a solid concrete block 3 feet high under each jack and only had to raise the jacks one foot, the camper would seem rock solid on the jacks.
But you are correct, that is what they are made for. Like I said, only for a few days. In the future, I'll use just one.
