Lynx Levelers

Quick question.

From what I have observed, most people put their jacks on some kind of base, some around a foot or so tall. I am assuming this prevents the jacks from extending longer therefore providing a more stable lifting experience.

I am swimming in those lovely orange Lynx Levelers, even have 4 of the smooth tops. I was thinking of putting on some non-slip material on the top of the smooth blocks then stack a few under each jack.

Does this theory make sense?

How high should I sensibly stack them? One to two feet?

Lynx Leveler's strong enough? (4,500 lb camper)

Thanks!
  • unless you have a lifted truck I can see no reason to have the camper jacks way up on blocks. I store mine like this off the camper and I have a 4x4 F350 and the jacks can give me 6" more lift than I need.

I use wood I have the plastic blocks which are fine for the spead out contact patch of the tires but I doubt I would trust them with the concentrated load of the jack pad

egarant...no way I would do that...way too unstable.

1 lynx block or a piece of 1/2" marine plywood...that's it. A little something to spread the load so the feet don't sink in dirt...

What makes you think extending the jacks is a bad idea?

    That's what they are for.

You want that camper as low to the ground and stable as possible when off the truck.

Less extension, less wobble. Theoretically if I had a solid concrete block 3 feet high under each jack and only had to raise the jacks one foot, the camper would seem rock solid on the jacks.

But you are correct, that is what they are made for. Like I said, only for a few days. In the future, I'll use just one.

    Thanks!
  • I got tired of them. I spent a day cutting up a horse stall mat. Think rubber pads and have had great luck with them on class C. Neighbor borrowed some to check out how it work for his camper and know he also uses them.
  • Be very careful with the plastic levelers. I unloaded my Arctic Fox 990 using 4 under each jack foot. pulled the truck out and parked it started letting the camper down so it wouldn't be so high and levelers slid out on one side, camper leaned to the right bending the two front jacks. I still don't have it back on truck. may have to buy at least one jack. At least there was no damage to camper. Be very careful
  • Like the OP I live in earth quake country and I would never store my TC on lego blocks, too much risk of falling damage. I store mine with the bottom two or three inches off the deck.
  • She is off the plastic blocks and each jack is on a 2x6 little pad.

    Thanks for your input!
