Maiden voyage troubles.

Talking the Creekside 26BKS on our 1st trip to camp
in SanDiego for a week. Got here and found the slide and awning
won't open. Not good because the three women in the family have
all their stuff in the bathroom which is not accessible when
the slide is in. All was fine packing up at home. Now granted,
Hwy 5 thru LA is not great, but I would not have expected
this.

All fuses good. There's a good 13.5 v on all wires heading
Out of the fuse box. Pulled the switch for the slide.
Power leads coming up from fuse box do not have 13.6 v
On them. The slide switch and awning are side by side
and since neither work, I now can see why. No power. Also found
an inline fuse behind switch which is good.

does anybody have any ideas what could be between the
fuse panel and switch that could have been effected.
Wire routing is through ceiling . Not very easy to get at.

Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks. ... Dave
  • Theres one cable from battery to fuse panel. Looks like slide is powered
directly from the switch. Cant find any relays or additional fuses.
looked everywhere. Even removed fuse panel altogether.
nothing back there either. Lots of wires going all over. No additional
disconnects or fuses to be found.

I also thought there'd be a manual crank for the slide but
I dont see any access for that nor was there any tools included
..... just a crank for the jacks.
  • Check for inline fuses (positive side), at or near your battery.

Check battery disconnect switch, if you have one.

Also look for a circuit breaker that looks like this. They are normally located where the positive battery lead, connects to the trailer. It could be in front of, or possibly inside, a junction box under the trailer, near the battery.

They come in various amperage and they are available (under 10.00) at most auto parts stores. Most likely a 30 amp for slide outs.

Disconnect the battery, before testing (continuity between the two posts) or replacing the breaker.
  • The slides should have a manual override to pull then in or out. Mine uses a small tool and power drill. Would at least get you set up so the girls can use the bathroom.
