I wouldn't dump a whole of money into an expensive lock up system. A good well placed #2 screwdriver will open most TT doors first try by bending back the ALUMINUM frame at the door jam. Then it pops right back in place haha...

On my POPUP the easiest way to get in is to slide your hand behind the VELCRO around the door and open from the inside hehe...

When I am carrying groceries it is easier to do this instead of trying to fumble around in the pockets to find the keys.

I think the locks are there only for the honest people and makes you feel good... In all my years of camping since the early 50's I have never had any problems with fellow campers

I even enjoy having the same lock key as the neighbor - Sure keeps him from being locked out sometimes haha...

My truck has the push button door lock setup so we keep all of our spare keys and valuables inside the truck. It is easy for us to get at when needed.

Do you have a lik to the one you bought? Mine does not fall under the recall - the key cannot be taken out at the 9 oclock position, but it is pot metal and cheaply made - not surprising. I am also looking into the one avoidcrowds linked.

Mine was not listed on the website for the recal, but I'm still going to follow the instructions and see if the deadbolt key comes out at the 9oclock position. Thanks for the link to the aftermarket part - may look into that as well.

If you decide to not go the recall route, I replaced a round-knob/deadbolt combo with this after-market lock. Yes, I had to do some cutting, but this design was much appreciated by DW.

Been there done that TWICE. Once with original equipment and the second time with a new replacement....which is NOT cheap. I had to bend the door frame back to get it out.

If it's a Trimark I understand they now make a steel replacement part for the one that breaks. I highly suggest you look it up and get it replaced ASAP. Can't tell you what a nightmare it is when that breaks and you can't get in or out when you are on the road camping. Good Luck!

I replaced mine twice also in the last 8 years. The second time it happened it was at the glass place when my front windshield was being replaced. The owner of the place said he has replaced may of them.

Call the companys local number they tend to answer that before the 1 888 number. I had to look the company up on google. I replaced all my locks and it was super easy they give you the lock, new keys, a key tool, and directions. You will need to send back the key tool once your done, but they provided a shipping package. Took about 5 min to open read directions and replace 2 locks.
