and it is a 49 gallon tank. So if it is in the front, filling the tank would put over 380# ahead of the COG. BUT who ALWAYS travels with a full fresh water tank?

I posted up photos when i first got my TC becuase I was concerned about the COG location. I received replies that ranged from dont sweat it to buy an F550 to cut and shorten the bed. In the end I was able to realize if it works then let it work.
Having said that, this is one of those times where you probably should get it weighed since you are trying to use a LB camper on a SB truck. It may be light enough you can get away with it. Does it lift the front end up when you load it?

That is a nice rig.

Pickup truck rating math (where, for example, GAWR front 5200lbs + GAWR rear 6200lbs = GVWR 9900lbs) is for just such an occasion. The aft of rear axle CG will help to reduce the front axle weight to stay within max GVWR. Hooking up a trailer will help even more. Check tire pressure before every trip. Consult all your owner manuals. This post has a high BSWR. :)

I'll be a little more scientific about your camper. Weigh it. See how close you are on the rear axle weight and if and how much weight was removed from the front axle. Can you move things forward, don't use the rear bumper storage etc. I'm not sure what percentage off the front is acceptable but I'm sure there are many folks (probably over 50%) on this forum lifting the front end. I am, with a Lance 1191 on Ram3500. We keep chips and popcorn in those nice rear cabinets.

lance doesn't use Happihjacs, which the camper in he photo has.

I reckon its a Eagle Cap camper, I conclude that because of the large latches on the compartment doors (EC calls them SLAM LATCHES)
and the graphics.

Appears to be a new Eagle Cap on a very short bed truck. Of course the the COG will be behind the rear axle on a short bed truck, just common sense.

That camper is not a Lance as some have suggested on here.

1. Some trucks have a zone where the CG should fall and it is not an absolute on the center line of the rear axle.

2. The camper looks like the long bed version loaded on a short bed. Ford uses a 6.75' long bed which is longer than the other two large truck makers. It would look even worse on a GM or Ram short bed.

3. The fact that the rear tie down angle is off shows this camper is not a good fit for any short bed.
