Manufacturers of Hard-Sided Pop-Ups

It looks like the market for hard-sided pop-ups is growing. I am trying to identify all of the manufacturers but know that sometimes you have something that just sells more or less local so I might miss some. I know of Aliner, Chalet, Forest River (Flagstaff/Rockwood) and I see that Jayco has started a line in 2014. I would include Hi-Lo (last year in business 2010) and Trailmanor, both the standard and the new Rise (like a Hi-Lo sort of) but know that many would consider them as travel trailers. I cannot think of any others. We are in the market right now, the next unit is #9 since we bought a used pop-up from a neighbor in 1984, a 1978 which looking back at it was not as great as we imagined it to be but the 1st after tent camping is always pure luxury. Of the hard-sided, we are limited because we sleep 3 adults and want the wet-bath.

If anyone has any good/bad experiences with the hard-sided pop-ups, all insight/comments would be greatly appreciated. I will be scouring the forum and internet for info and have already started reading what many of you have posted here. I am particularly interested in the "negative" and know that nothing is perfect but when you see the same issue coming up again and again, that is when it is time to look for something else.

Years ago when Aliner's ads said "No boundaries" that has been my dream. We have every type camper except a Class A and many create "boundaries". Thanks!

  • I love my hardsided Flagstaff TH! We downsized from 34' motorhomes to travel trailers & really haven't looked back since bringing this home.

I could list alot of positive things that work for us. I don't think of anything negative in the sense of understanding the limitations of the product. Those who expect more out of it, than what it is, are only setting themselves up for disappointment.

My spouse's only complaint had been that due to his weight (235 lbs) he crushes the 4" cushions flat & sleep has not been the best. We have since resolved that problem & he wakes up refreshed and pleasant! Haha

With your past experience of RVs, it'll come down to what your tow rig can handle, what your user needs/preferences are with regard to floor plan, model, color, etc.

Best wishes to you in your hunt!
