We have a 2012 Jayco 322FKS with the DELUXE pillow top mattress that is just terrible to sleep on for any length of time (like weeks or months).We are wondering if anyone has found the perfect mattress. We hate foam because is doesn't breath and is hot in the summer, number bed has never worked for us either. At home we do a king size Stearns and Foster about 18" thick but I don't see us doing that here. I've has issues with my back and shoulders on the Jayco surely there has to be something better out there that can be made to rv lengths. Our bed in our unit is a king.TIATom

I've posted this suggestion before ... why not get a new mattress for your camper that's identical to the one in your house? Why mess around trying to repair a lost cause! Just get the size for your camper, but the same brand and firmness as the one you sleep on at home! Problem solved!

We bought a Sleep Number like we have at home. A good nights sleep is worth it.

We just had a new king and twin size mattress for our rv delivered from Mattress Mart last week. Custom ordered both and they showed up in 4 days. Have not used them yet, but will come April. The king size is the Compass Euro pillow top by Brigham. Original mattresses are so cheap.

I don't think there any such thing as a good one, is there? We had an odd size so we replaced it with good foam. Did the bed and couch and dinette and 2 pieces big enough to put on top of the dinette and couch when they are made into beds. $900.00I spend little on this Jayco TT itself but I'm not going to be uncomfortable.

The very first mod on our current rig was a new mattress after spending an uncomfortable weekend during our maiden voyage. Had one built to our specs by a local mattress factory and now we sleep well. I've heard good things about the bed on CW website that arrives in a box and expands to proper dimensions in about a day or so. There are some very nice gel foam toppers available that greatly reduce issues with pressure points and provide a cool sleeping experience.

Thanks for posting this. Our mattress is kinda fonkey and 8 years old. I'm so glad to know we can just buy a normal bed mattress and not have to order a special tt mattress. We sleep on a memory foam at home that weighs a ton, like someone else posted. I figure we can go kinda cheap on a new mattress for the tt, but not uncomfortable.So far for this year there are about 14 nights planned in it.

If we were replacing the mattress, we would do so with the same kind of mattress as we sleep at home. Our mattress in our FW is not the most comfortable but since we only vacation and do not live in it, we opted to add a 4" memory foam topper to it instead of replacing. I am hot natured but don't get any hotter sleeping on the memory foam. They make different ones. Some of them are cooler than others. Ours has a pad between the case and the memory foam. It makes a huge difference.
