Mattress topper question

Ok, i thought i could deal with the queen mattress that came with our TT but its killing my back. Finally decided to try a mattress topper. Looking for feedback from the RV veterans here on what you like.

  • We bought a 3" memory foam topper from Amazon for right at $100. It made a world of difference. Best $100 I've spent in a while. I'm going to order one for my kids bunks also.

I got a very good one from CW that did the trick.

I also got one from CW. It wasn't cheap but I got it on sale with free shipping and it works really well for us. Has 2" of foam and another 1" layer of polyester inside a fitted cover.
  • I ended up just out-and-out replacing our mattress with a short queen firm memory foam mattress off of Amazon. The problem with a topper is that it doesn't solve the underlying support issue that the thin, unsupportive base foam RV mattress has, so it still bottoms out. There are plenty of high quality memory foam mattresses available nowadays for reasonable cost... I like the Zinus brand that Amazon sells.
  • Kohl's has their Big One mattress toppers that go on sale for $29.99 all sizes regularly.

They are only 1 inch thick, but I bought 2 at the sale price and stacked them. Like them so much that I bought a pair for the house bed.

Can't find a 2 inch topper for under $100 otherwise.
  • We found our mattresses in our RV's only needed a little help. We bought an inexpensive foam topper at Walmart and love it. We have actually purchased two of them over time.

If you happen to have a cabinet near the bed where the door opens across the bed, make sure you don't go to tall on a mattress , it will block the cabinet door.
  • we got this one and love it. it's a bit longer than the RV mattress, but it fits close enough. could always trim the foam if you wanted a better fit.
