Just to get all of our ducks in a row, all Maxxis M8008 trailer tires are made in Thailand not Taiwan and not that it makes a difference to you…
All you will get is opinions unless you have specific questions and address them to Maxxis… most information is proprietary and not available to the public…
At the time of my research, about 4 or 5 years ago I was looking for the 225x75x15 size also…
after several e-mails a phone conversations with Maxxis, Carlisle, and the very uncooperative GY, combined with personal testimonials of friends, fellow campers and travelers and researching many internet web-sites and forums…
along with researching the DOT certification requirements and the NHTSA web-site, I decided that at that time Maxxis was the only ST tire builder voluntary going the extra mile to build the tire better using better materials and construction processes… time since then has only reinforced my belief as they have and are building a loyal following just as Honda has done with their generators… I have no emotional ties to the company, only to supply myself with the best tire I know how to and to share my experience and opinion with others…
another positive reinforcement I see is that others are beginning to follow their lead in construction processes…
to date I have seen nothing to change my mind and I believe they are the best built ST tire out there for my use and application…
take it for what it’s worth… or not… makes no difference to me…
quality and country of origin is a completely different topic …
however a country of origins quality issues and reputation for shortcutting to lower production cost, overlaps many products and issues, including tires…
however this thread like others will degenerate into a my tire is better than your tire, and there is no choice other than changing to a LT tire…
