Maybe a new Ford?

You say you don't want a 350 but a 250 and in a King Ranch....I would go 350 assuming you are going diesel as you will be over the trucks GVWR after hitching up that trailer probably before you even sit in the truck. Those 3/4 ton diesels are really nice but the payload is the same as a half ton and in alot of cases lower than a half ton. Alot of those loaded up King Ranch, Platinum 3/4 ton diesels have 1800ish lb payload and I've even seen them in the 1600lb range too...So just something to think about.

i can say that i love the interior on my Platinum F350, the seats are extremely comfortable for me and i can spend hours in there without issue. I'm 6'2" - 215lbs so I'm not a super small guy either.

My father has the same year and model as mine however its the King Ranch trim and i find his interior to be just as comfortable as mine although he does not have the massaging seats that mine has, i love those.

go with the F350, it has much more payload capacity and honestly rides better than my previous F250 (2013) did - it's what you need for that 5er in my opinion.

My Platinum F350 SRW has a listed payload rating of over 3400lbs.

Both my father and i tow many miles per season and we really are happy with the trucks and how they perform down the road. I tow around 10000# and my father with his heavier and long cougar tows around 13500# - I've ridden in and towed both and honestly cannot tell much difference with the additional 3500lbs behind the truck.
Both 5er use Reese 5th airborn air pinboxes and the trucks are 100% stock otherwise.

While i'm sure a DRW will most likely be more stable, i cannot say that i'm not extremely satisfied with our current setup.

Don't have an issue with you wanting a Ford over a Ram for the seats that is a personal choice. What I question is going from a 3500 DRW to a F250 King Ranch, with next to no Payload. Even to those that say no difference between a F250 and F350 SRW, you will likely be trading those more comfortable seats for a far less comfortable towing experience.

The leather in the Longhorn is different than the Laramie. It is stiffer, but with time will loosen up after a break in period. I thought the same thing when we bought my wife's truck, I like them better than the seats in my Laramie since her truck has had a few miles put on it.

Only thing I don't like about the newest gen F250s is how the rear end tends to sag pretty easily with a load. I think Ford softened the springs for a better ride to compete with the coils sprung ride that Ram offers in their 2500 and by doing that, they made it pretty prone to squat.

While I ordered my truck with just the XLT trim, these seats are also very comfortable, even with long day rides. My 250 does ride a little stiff, on rougher roads, due to the heavy duty service suspension, that I ordered.

The f350 srw will ride identical to the f250.... go f350 srw. I like my '17 Ford but I'm sure I would have been happy with a Ram as well. I could have saved a few thousand dollars buying a Ram Laramie Limited over my decision to buy a Ford Platinum. Ford has the nice big sun roof, nice mirrors, massage seats, adaptive cruise all of which I really appreciate.

they don't squat very much, mine is a different story as i removed the 4" blocks in installed 2" blocks to lower the back of my truck by 2" to level out my 5er - it squats about 2" when i load up my fifth wheel and have my two Honda generators, some fuel cans, a BBQ smoker and a few other odds and ends.

Have a 2017 King Ranch and love it. If you can get the massaging seats, get them. Have no trouble with the seats, and really like the massaging seats when on a day long trip. Adaptive steering makes backing a trailer easier, cameras are great, and all of the other safety features. We test drove all the others before buying this one, no regrets.

Thanks for the replies, I am fine with the F250 and not wanting the 350. I do love my Ram other then the rough ride and drivers seat.
I wasn’t going to buy anything but the New Ram but I decided to look at the F250 and on the test drive It made me love the seats and the ride was comparable to the new Ram. Yes the massage feature is very nice as well. I debating buying another MC vs CC but the Ford CC is larger then the Rams CC. The Ram Longhorn is priced the same as the King Ranch. I do like the 12” screen on the Ram but I like the panoramic sunroof of the Ford so it’s a tossup but my comfort wins.
