Med. travel trailer with bed and "living area @ oppsite ends

Hi there,

I've been shopping for a medium size (22' to 26') travel trailer for a little while and I'm having a hard time find a layout that I really like.

Its predominantly going to be my girlfriend and I but I may be hosting 1 or 2 other people at times. I know its a bit picky but I'd prefer the "master bedroom" and the secondary "bed" (think fold down dinette or jack knife couch" to be on opposite ends of the camper, with the kitchen and bathroom being in between. Reason for this is I want either party to be able to use the bathroom without walking past the other. Would be GREAT if I could find something that had a slideout in the "living area" so it was a bit more open where the couch and/or dinette is.

It doesnt seem to be a very popular layout but I was hoping someone knows of something off hand that may fit the description.

I did find a very old (believe 97,98 and 99) Skyline Layton (or Aljo) 2591 that fits the description, and even has a very forward positioned slide for the jack knife couch and dinette area, but being so old its hard to find ones that are still on the road and for sale, and even harder to find information about them.

Specifically looking for used so I'm sure that gives me a lot of options.
  • Outdoors RV TimberRidge 24RLS or 24RKS, but I'd want a 3/4 truck to tow them, and probably a diesel. They are heavy.
  • I suspect you will need to super size to something in the 30'+ range.

We were looking for a "master bedroom" with a actual wall and door and queen bed, could not find that in sub 30' length..

Ended up buying a old 26'TT that needed a lot of love, gutted it and managed to fit a queen bed master bedroom plus a living room/dining room couch that folds out the a full size bed and added a twin bunk over that. Put a folding table that folds into the wall when not needed so one room does multiple duties.

If you really sit down and put pen to paper and draw out what you are asking for you will find out that you won't be able to fit it in a 26ft box..
  • Our first RV was a Trailmanor model 2720 that folded up to be easily towed. My Wife's bed was at the back end and my bed was in front; perfect setup. It's like we each had our own room.
It looks like they have relocated to South Dakota from Tennessee area so new ones may still be available. Used ones were almost impossible to find.
  • The Old School Layton that I was looking at has a floorplan very similar to this. Obviously its not exact and not to scale but generally speaking this is pretty much it. I love the layout of the "living area" and the fact that the master bedroom is on the opposite end of the camper.

Thats a really nice layout, but I'm actually hoping to find something with the dinette and couch across from eachother, rather than perpendicular
