Megacab longbed conversion

Anyone running one of these with a heavier TC? Just curious if it affects CG or puts stress on the splice at the rear axle? I've researched several companies that do the conversion and they all "claim" the stretch doesn't void warranty or affect any of the weight numbers I,e, GVWR payload etc...

By definition anything that adds weight to the vehicle reduces the Payload capacity. Megacab's start off with reduced payload capacity because the cab is so heavy, adding that extra sheet metal will just make it worse!

Actually the 2013 and up models have upwards of 5700lbs of payload that's why I'm revisiting the model. And I will verify on a scale before purchase that the sticker is correct...

  • It's a shame the chassis cabs are not offered with the MegaCab. They have a longer and stronger chassis than the pickup.
  • There are a couple of people on here with them. Generally they love them except for the 40 acres needed to turn them. But the one fella I know tows a fifth wheel with his.

  • I looked into this when I purchased my Mega Cab. Its not an inexpensive modification.

Adding 1'6" to the frame (6'6" bed to 8' bed) doesn't seem to be much but thats a lot of frame between tires.
