You sure? The higest mountain is 12,000 ft. We have roads, that are 4,000 ft up not far from me, highest highway roughly 5000ft, No they are much higher in New Zealand. I do not know where you got your information from
The place is far from dead flat unlike Canada when you get over the Rockies
