Just like with any auto brand, it all depends on the luck of the draw...... I had a 2006 Benz CLK that I bought CPO with 25k miles on it. Luckily for me CPO included warranty to 100k miles. I NEVER completed a full maintenance interval without needing some sort of unscheduled service. Mostly "check engine" lights for numerous different reasons..
Finally, @ 105,000mi, the "check engine" light came on and I was told the balance shaft in the engine needed replacing to the tune of $8,000. A quick internet search revealed this to be a common problem with the 3.5L V6 of mid-2000's vintage. After I confronted the dealer with this info, MB suddenly agreed to eat all but $2,000 of the repair.
I traded the car shortly thereafter, as the potential repair costs out of warranty are totally unreasonable.

I put 300k on a Mercedes Diesel with no serious problems and damn few minor ones. Later I had a BMW 740il I put 100k on it before I ever changed as much as a lightbulb. Together they remain the CHEAPEST vehicles I have owned in terms of overall cost.
