Dealer wants $200 for a oc on our Smart car, 3 quarts and a tea cup oil filter.
I put 300k on a Mercedes Diesel with no serious problems and damn few minor ones. Later I had a BMW 740il I put 100k on it before I ever changed as much as a lightbulb. Together they remain the CHEAPEST vehicles I have owned in terms of overall cost.

ALL maintenance is free on a BMW. Brake rotors, pads, tune ups, windshield wipers, fluids, filters. EVERYTHING except tires. I have a BMW and Mercedes and although the maintenance isn't free on the mercedes I bought the maintenance package. Best tow vehicle I have ever owned.
