I have searched the web for a metal RV shelter and found lots of companies from other parts of the country that build metal RV Shelters. But, I would really like to have someone local do it - And can't find anyone. Maybe i am using the wrong search terms or the national places just use pay-per-click so the smaller places don't show in searches. Who knows?I already have a barn, it is too small for the trailer, but I don't need another barnI want to build a simple metal carport style shelter for my trailer. 12Hx12Wx36L. Only need one full side and the roof since ot will be near my barn.Does anyone know of a local / Minnesota installer for these? Or, anyone have luck with the national guys and can throw a referral?I've looked into Carolina Carports, but they don't install here. Alan's Factory Outlet sounds good, but i can't find any unbiased reviews.Any help will be appreciated.

I've checked them out and their material prices are sometimes twice as high as the installed prices I find on the web. I was going to build a wood one - But the materials alone were $3000. I checked the metal ones at HD and Menards and they were about in the same price frame. The specs seem the same as the national places, so I can't figure out why they are asking so much more $. Although, I will probably end up doing either that or gambling with one of the national outfits if I don't find a lot of reviews on any particular supplier.

Have purchased two metal shelters from carports.com. One for a patio cover and the other for RVs. I have been pleased with price, quality and service with both units. The RV shelter is 18' X 21' X 8', however, I installed sides myself with material from local metal roofing/siding shop.

You local carpenter should be able to throw you up a pole shed for little money and quick. You will have to ask locally to get prices. Maybe try a search for pole shed.

We had around 40" of snow, then rain, then sub zero temps and more snow last month and there were about 70-75 of the metal carports that failed and damaged or destroyed the vehicles (cars, trucks, boats and RVs) under them here in our county. Our county has less than 40k people, so that is a major occurrence for us. DH is working with the state disaster assistance people doing canvassing of the county for damage, so we got the numbers pretty close.There were also many steel-framed buildings that failed under the stress of the snow and ice, also.That being said, there might be a reason you can't find them in Minnesota!!

Our county has less than 40k people, so that is a major occurrence for us. DH is working with the state disaster assistance people doing canvassing of the county for damage, so we got the numbers pretty close.

There were also many steel-framed buildings that failed under the stress of the snow and ice, also.

That being said, there might be a reason you can't find them in Minnesota!!

There are ones in your local area.

When I went to build my building for the RV I found the info for the best priced AND the best quality builders from my local horse feed store.

Most horse feed stores will have all the brochures from the best builders in town. Horse people do not put up with any shoddy builders.

The most respected builders of pole barns/metal sheds can be found within your local horse owner community.

I just looked up the big horse farms near me and went down to talk to them. They are very eager to tell you who IS the best builder in your area.

Morton is a great company. Do a search for a dealer in your area.

Morton and Lester would be great places to do business with, I also think they
are responsible to the Minnesota snow load as the one poster stated. If not built to Minnesota specs, all could be lost in one snowfall.

I used TNT carports (national co.) I think, they install everywhere, price quality and financing were all great.

I bought a carport for a trailer in Kansas and wanted one for a trailer in North MN. When I called they said they did not sell there because of the snow load requirements.
