Method HD wheels on beach

I just ordered 4 Method rims and I forgot to ask salesman if I could air down the tires to 20 lbs ( with tc on) to drive through the sand on the beach. Does anybody know if I can? Or will the tires be damaged? I have been doing it with stock rims for 15 years with no problem. Thanks.

I have some Toyo Mt's 35 x 12.5 x 18's and are running the Method 305HD's and I have ran down to 30psi in the sand with my camper down in Baja. Didn't want to push it as it was kinda isolated.
Didn't "float" but they weren't a problem. Didn't get stuck or even close.
Got passed by an old station wagon with 10 kids in it on the beach.
. That is great news! The method 305 HD’s are what I ordered! Thanks

Not sure on exacts but the HD's with bead grip allows you to go lower and still carry 4500 lbs. I go down to 20psi on my stock rims on the front, will only go down to 22psi on the rears.

BTW, are you getting bigger tires, I am interested in putting bigger tires on my rig so the differential isn't smacking stuff in the sand and so I can float better.
. No I’m keeping my 18” Nitto Grapplers and I been on beach before with stock rims and no problem

  • The Method HD rims are for LT tires and allow you to air down for soft surface use.
  • ^Methods don’t come in 19.5s.

Yes you can air down just like you have in the past.
  • If you are saying 19.5s, that's a no go. At least, most people would say no. The bead and sidewalls are different on 19.5s.
