My '05 Duramax gets about 11.5mpg loaded with my 11' 4,000+ pound camper driving 70 mph. If I'm also towing the 4,500 pound boat then it drops to about 11 mpg at 65 mph (I have to slow down because of the ST tires on the boat trailer).
The truck is never "empty" since I have an aluminum flatbed with tool boxes full of stuff. In this "empty" configuration I get about 15 to 16 mpg.
