2004 2500HD 6L gas, 4.10, 4x4, crew, LB
11MPG unloaded, mostly city driving
10MPG with camper, mostly highway driving, cruising speed of 65mp

My brother is getting in the 40's with his big diesel when pulling a huge cargo trailer. I would love to put my camper on his truck to see what happens. I suspect that MPG would drop like a brick but would be cool to see.

I have a 2002 GMC 2500 HD with a 6L that gets around 11.7 up to 11.9 mpg as an average on most trips, flat to the foothills.

In the mountains I get a lot better from 12 to 14 mpg.

Would love a truck that gets better MPG but have not found one and I have looked at a lot.

My brother drives a 3500HD diesel tricked out with all the toys and can get in the low to mid 40's pulling their large cargo trailer on the highway. I would LOVE to put the TCer on his truck to see what it does to the MPG, have a feeling it would drop like a brick.

Truck/Camper in my sig getting 10.75 hand calculated highway mix loaded at about 12,800 lbs. I cruise at 65 on the freeway. It's worth noting that the computer consistently under-reports my mpg, reporting about .5 mpg low. Not a big difference though.

I found my on board computer tells me I'm getting from low 14's to mid 15's on the highway with the truck and camper in my sig. I travel between 55 and 60 mph. I've heard the computer referred to a "lie O meter" so I'm not sure how accurate it is. Quite frankly I don't care what the mileage is. There's nothing I can do about it except keep my speed down. I saw a good bumper sticker that said "THERE'S MORE TO LIFE THAN GOOD MILEAGE." LOL

TCs "suck" the fuel. I'm on a month long trip right now and have had a great tailwind from Lake Havasu to Amarillo tonight. could tell by the feel, sound and boost gauge that I wasn't using much power, but I still only got 13.5 mpg over 400 mi. I was towing a 4k lb pontoon boat but a TC like a high profile Lance just has a lot of wind resistance.
Speed is a killer. Double the speed, quadruple the drag.
I'm just glad I was going east not west. Although, I do have to go home.
I nomally get 10-11 mpg with my Lance 981 and 03 Dodge CTD.
It's funny how towing a 12k lb 5th wheel gives about the same mileage.

Truck/Camper in my sig line gets 12-13 loaded, terrain dependent. Truck sans camper gets highway mileage in the 18-20 range, again terrain and weight of right foot dependent. Really happy I chose a diesel.

In answer to your question no we've never put a pen to the mpg we just take the computer info. We drive back an forth from Tampa , Fl to Jupiter , Fl usually twice a month an have been doing that for the last two years plus during the summer going on trips out west an up the east coast. So we probably just haven't taken the time to do so .

Just clocked this one out this weekend 600 miles.2014 F250 4x2 super cab 6.2 gas fully loaded wet and gear, 2014 Lance 855 hit the scales on the way out at 9,960lbs driving a mix of back roads and interstate. 10.9 miles to gallon average.
