Mileage
I just replaced my 2001 7.3 powerstroke with a new 2016 6.7 powerstroke 4X4 I know the 6.7 won't get the mileage that my old truck got but once it's broke in what kind of mileage are you 6.7 owners ...

I could maaaaaaybe believe a very minor improvement after the first few tanks as things got broken in. Like something in the neighborhood of .2 mpg. I don't even know how someone could track it.
I think it's a case of optimistic calculating when people see some crazy improvement on an older vehicle.
Dang this is one of the classic interwebs truck arguments and I don't think I've seen it yet on rvnet!
But yeah, and to top it off, I don't think the avg mileage varies that much from year to year and brand to brand as made out to be, save for the 1st gen dpf trucks use considerably more fuel to re gen. Affecting overall mileage.
Pretty much every diesel pickup I've owned or driven enough gets 17-18 mpg avg, plus or minus 2 for conditions, speed , etc.
And never saw that magic mileage jump on any diesel at 10k, 30k, 100k, whatever is being claimed.
