Mistaken ideas about how a diesel engine works

I've seen a lot of grumbling as of late about the power output of new diesel engines. These same people complain and ask why the manufactures have to run the power up so much and why don't they work...

Ya, Shiner, I reread that and I could see that. Kind of a dumb analogy on my part. But the numbers were true. The Dmax puts out 160 more HP and gets the same mileage towing (I tow a bit faster in the hills with the Dmax) than the 6.5.

Much like the new 2017 Dmax will put out almost 50 more HP than the old one but it will get better mileage if you don't use that HP.
