Mistaken ideas about how a diesel engine works

I've seen a lot of grumbling as of late about the power output of new diesel engines. These same people complain and ask why the manufactures have to run the power up so much and why don't they work...

So why are the old two cycle Detroits so fuel hungry? They are noted fuel hogs in boats and on the road. Chris
