We stayed in Arches w/o power in June and the nights were cool enough for sleeping.

didn't check your dates but todays paper shows a rodeo competition on May 29-31 in moab, with parade, etc.

We stayed at "Riverside Oasis" I think. North end of Moab on Colorado River.
Close to entrance to Arches. Nice small campground.

We normally stay at Archview RV Park about 10 miles North of Moab because we love to ride ATV's and this is a great park for that. While riding in that area I have seen tons of people boondocking on BLM ground. Just North of Archview RV Park there are several different roads that head off to the East and most of these folks were in those area's and they were not far off of the pavement. Don't remember the names of any of the roads but maybe someone else will or just look on some maps about 10-15 miles N of Moab

I was there in April and there were a number of people boondocking northwest of town. If i can remember the road i will post it up how to get there.

We always boondock on BLM lands north of the intersection of 191/313 which is the entrance to Canyonlands SP. The road is BLM 378 or Willow Springs Rd. It is about 1 mile north of Archview RV Resort, which has all the stuff you would need and is IMO, one of the best RV parks in the Moab area.

We go in about ½ mile and pick a level spot. Also there is an old quarry on the left as you head down the road, just as you make the 1st 90 to the right.

I don't believe there is any boondocking on BLM lands in that area. There IS Ken Lake BLM park....it's as close to boondocking as you can get. We stayed 2-3 nights, but the Government closing down caused us to have to leave. We have the pass that got it for 1/2 price -- regular cost is $15.00 per night. It's a first come/first served basis. We were there in October and plenty of sites available.

Not sure if I would do it in June, but in Spring and Fall, the CanyonLands NP campground and hiking trails are awesome. No electricity though.

If I were to do it in the heat of the summer, think I would invest in an Evaporation cooler with fan and make sure my batteries were up to the task.
