2 days install a valve body. I find that highly unlikely!
I truly don't know.
I do know that these mechanics don't seem to know what they are doing. Or care.
I argued with one mechanic over whether or not there was a trans dip stick. He isnsted there wasn't after I asked him to check the most obvious problem first. There is but he wouldn't check until he got it back into the bay.
One mechanic said I should go in so they could check it real quick and it was probably software or fluid level. When I got in the manager looked at me like an idiot and said
"Why would the level be low after only 4000 miles?" So I said "Why would it be broken after only 4000 miles?"
Then 15 min later I noticed it was already outside in the parking lot but they were "checking on something."
An hour later I wnt to check and the manager said "I forgot you were waiting"
But they'd need it for seven days. 5 to get the parts and 2 to put them in.
This is when I may have said something about a 2 day mechanics course at Kmart.
In this day and age manufacturers are super tight on warranty claims, every step of the repair is dictated by the factory and if the dealer deviates from this repair plan the warranty is rejected.
Well said... My cousin has been wrenching at the Chrysler shop for ~4 years now and the red tape he has to go thru for warranty repairs is ridiculous.
